Radio TV Interview
Reporter Magazine http://www.rtir.com/
1-800-553-8002 Bradley Communications This is a monthly magazine
that is sent to radio/TV/ Print media professionals that contains
ads from prospective guests. Really, it isn't like a magazine
with stories. It is more of the yellow pages of Media Guests.
It is full of ads from authors and wanna-be celebrities who want
free publicity. This is a good place to start for your first hundred
interviews to get your "bit" polished and earn some real testimonials
from significant hosts. This magazine has opened the door to Oprah
and many other significant media "scores." However, don't expect
Oprah from this advertising expenditure. Many host and producers
see this magazine as a "last resource" and feel they are rolling
the dice by booking guest found inside. This is no reflection
on the magazine, it is a reflection on the other "guest" the have
bored listeners before you and embarrassed the producer. If you
can convince the producer you will make him/her look good...you
will be booked. Be entertaining or interesting... and you will
be back. If you are average with and average topic, expect a few
dozen interviews from tiny shows during your first ad run. The
most important thing to place in your RTIR ad is "testimonials"
from other hosts or producers! (Not testimonials from people that
love your book.. .they don't care about your book. They want Radio
Entertainment! or Compelling information.) If you are a no-name
and have no testimonials in your ad...count your blessings if
you get any calls from a major market or a national TV show. The
"I got discovered" stories do occur from this resource, but they
are the exception. There is no shortcut. You must earn it. I advertised
in RTIR back in 1993 to kick-start my radio guest career and it
was responsible for many of my first 100 shows or so. Now, after
1300 appearances, the shows call me. The CEO Bill Harrison is
a knowledgeable and kind man who will assist you in getting the
best bang for your buck. Tell him Bart sent you.
